Our selection :
- Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort is a luxury designer front property with many of the same features (chic, outdoor pool, beach facilities, spa, restaurants) as its competitors in this price range. The suites have private pools, two bedrooms, and telescopes for stargazing. The other rooms have minimal decor and an outdoor balcony, although these are less private. The small beach is beautiful, with sun loungers reserved for hotel guests, but it is a little stony.
- Myconian Villa Collection is a luxury property on a quiet strip of Elia Beach (it may be crowded, but not the party scene found on the sand in the town of Mykonos) with modern villas and loads of sumptuous features. Highlights include a saltwater infinity pool, private beach on the Aegean Sea, and an on-site spa with saltwater therapy treatments. Stays can be upgraded with luxury yacht charter or private chefs. There is a free shuttle to the city and a buffet breakfast included in the room rate.
- Clinging to a cliff above the Aegean Sea, the five-pearl Cavo Tagoo offers one spectacular view after another from its terraces and multi-level windows. This 80 room boutique hotel whispers “barefoot luxury”, the result of a 2007 renovation that combines whitewashed simplicity with sophisticated art and ultra-modern furniture. The city party scene is just five minutes by free shuttle bus from the hotel, but there is also plenty of action (some complain too much) at the pool bar for guests who want to mingle. Rooms with stone walls, wooden floors and beamed ceilings – are beautiful and elegant, and some have private pools that create a beautiful romantic ambience for a honeymoon or couples retreat.
